TRAINING & CONSULTATION

Training & Consultation: Services

I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have been designated by the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), the community of practitioners, trainers and researchers behind ACT, as a Peer-Reviewed ACT Trainer.

I have offered seminars, workshops, and consultation nationally and internationally in hospitals, non-profit organizations, mental health clinics and programs, colleges/universities, and academic conferences. I strive to adapt my trainings to the unique needs of your group and your context.

In addition to ACT, I provide training in topics such as:

  • Evidence-based mental health interventions (DBT, CBT)

  • Addressing burnout and systemic barriers to workplace well-being

  • Mindfulness-based strategies for self-care, communication, and relationships

  • Undermining stigma towards mental health & substance use disorders

Experiential Learning Rooted in Scientific Principles

After working with Dr. Johnson clinically and witnessing the rigor of his approach, I felt confident he was the right person to lead an ACT training for our large, multidisciplinary team at VUMC. Dr. Johnson was incredibly professional, timely with communication, and managed to keep a very diverse set of learners highly engaged in the material he prepared. He conducted two virtual trainings with our team over two years, and both trainings were extremely well-received and impactful in our subsequent clinical work.
